Relationship between John Winthrop and Thomas Dudley deteriorates.
March 31, 1631
(March) The friction between the two increases when Dudley moves from Boston to Cambridge (then Newtowne). Winthrop begins to build a house there as well, but stops construction when he finds that Dudley is discouraging Winthrop partisans from following suit. Winthrop also criticizes Dudley for the lavishness of Dudley’s new home.
